Spinach recipe
Here’s a simple and flavorful spinach recipe that’s quick to make and packed with nutrients!
_Garlic Sauteed Spinach_
*Ingredients:
- 1 lb fresh spinach (washed and tough stems removed)
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Red pepper flakes (optional, for a little heat)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for serving)
*Instructions:
Prepare the Spinach: If you’re using fresh spinach, rinse it thoroughly to remove any dirt. You can leave it a little damp, which helps it wilt more quickly.
Heat the Pan: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant and golden (be careful not to burn it!).
Cook the Spinach: Add the spinach to the skillet in batches. It may seem like a lot at first, but spinach wilts down significantly. Stir the spinach occasionally, and cook for about 3-4 minutes, until it’s wilted and tender.
Season: Add salt, pepper, and a pinch of red pepper flakes (if using). Stir in the lemon juice for a bright, fresh finish.
Serve: Transfer to a serving dish, and optionally top with grated Parmesan cheese for extra flavor.
This recipe is super quick and works as a great side dish or a healthy topping for things like pasta, pizza, or even a sandwich. Want to add anything else to it, like nuts or dried fruit?
